“Enjoy the Dharma Rain” is the theme for the next quarterly Day of Mindfulness Meditation on Saturday, Sept. 22, in Hawaiian Paradise Park near Keaau.

“Days of Mindfulness in the Zen Buddhist Tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh” are an integral part of both monastic and lay practice, said coordinator Marty Mimmack, M.Ed., a teacher and motivational speaker.

“Mindfulness Meditation calms the body and frees the mind so that concentration and insight can bring forth happiness in oneself and peace in the world,” said Mimmack. The public is invited to experience a day of various types of silent meditation, a short talk and other mindfulness practices.

“These ways of breathing and concentration sufficiently unify body, speech and mind that scientists and spirit guides from many faiths regard them as indispensable,” said Mimmack. The session will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $10, plus a donation for the host.

To attend, please call 315-7285 or email Mimmack at admiplace @yahoo.com.
