The University of Hawaii at Hilo invites the public to the annual conference of the Pacific Association for the Continental Tradition on Sept. 27-29 at the Kilauea Military Camp in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
The theme of the conference is “The Elemental.” Twenty-five participants from around the world will make presentations on the natural environment, the relationship between art and knowledge and the possibility of a meaningful relationship between humans and nature.
There will also be an art exhibit at the at Volcano Art Center Niaulani Gallery, with works by local artists on the theme of the conference. An RSVP is required for attendees of the art show, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 28.
