The award-winning full-length comedy “Get A Job” with an all-Hawaii cast is playing tonight at 7 p.m. at the Palace Theater in Hilo.
This hilarious farce stars Willie K. and Eric Gilliom and co-stars Carolyn Omine, a former writer for “The Simpsons,” Augie T. and Jake Shimabukuro, with special appearances by Henry Kapono, Amy Hanaiali‘i, Mick Fleetwood, Willie Nelson, and Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers augmenting the wedding band finale.
Produced with an entire island feel, this hilarious comedy is about the adventures of a bumbling man-child trying to find a job. The film showcases awkward Hawaiian adventures with a local cheeky slant.
The labor of love took four years for writer/director Brian Kohne to complete. He started planning the project while in film school at San Jose State University. Kohne is the manager/producer for Willie K. and Eric Gilliom, aka Barefoot Natives. Sixteen songs by the Barefoot Natives are part of the soundtrack.
