George Alexander Error, 81, of Kailua-Kona, died Saturday at his home. Born in Bingham Canyon, Utah, he attended high school in Salem, Ore. and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in food technology. He served two years in the U.S. Army before starting a lifetime career with Del Monte Foods. Before retiring to Kona in 1995, he was president and general manager of Del Monte Philippines. He was a member of Kappa Sigma, Kona Outdoor Circle, and Kona Historical Society. Survived by wife, Normita Error of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Ellyn (Rod) McNeil of Forest Grove, Ore. and Colleen (Paul) Stoltenberg of Seattle; brother, Nick (Mary) Eror of Pittsburgh; sister, Marilyn (Neville) Chinivasagam; and five grandchildren. Celebration of life and military honors at 3 p.m. Friday at Kona Outdoor Circle Garden. Aloha wear requested. Donations may be made to the above organizations as well as Hospice of Kona. Lynn Louise (Kelly) Kitts, formerly of Hilo, died Sept. 13 at her home in Grand Rapids, Mich. Born in Detroit, she attended Michigan State University where she graduated with a degree in home economics. She worked as a home economics teacher for several years before marrying the late Donald Kitts in 1966. The newlyweds traveled to Hawaii on their honeymoon, and took up residence in Hilo.. Two children, Kim Meyer of Morro Bay, Calif., and Nate Kitts of Grand Rapids, Mich., were born in Hawaii before the family relocated to Midland, Mich. An avid gardener, Lynn was an active member of the Midland Garden Club. She worked as a volunteer in the hospital gift shop and was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survived by two children and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
