Kaili, a Hawaiian musician, has dedicated his life to promoting Hawaiian music. He has helped promote Hawaiian music through festivals, concerts and performances for more than 20 years by not only playing but helping with sound, lighting, decorations and contacting other Hawaiian musicians to perform.
Born on the Island of Hawaii, Kaili started playing Hawaiian music at the age of 8 with his family, including his uncle, Uncle George Lanakilakeikiahiali‘i Na‘ope.
Also performing Saturday will be Halau Ke ‘Olu Makani O Mauna Loa, based in Kilauea. The halau is under the direction of Kumu Hula Meleana Manuel. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door and are available at the East Hawaii Cultural Center, 141 Kalakaua St. in Hilo, or call 935-9085.
