Saruwatari of Hilo; son, Guy (Kathy) Saruwatari of Colorado; two daughters, Iris (Robert) Handa of Arizona, Susan Saruwatari of Hilo; brother, George M. (Dorothy) Hirowatari of Ninoole; three sisters, Helene Ikeda and Jane Hata, both of Hilo, Asako (Sumio) Shitabata of Papaaloa; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
