Two University of Hawaii at Hilo spring 2012 graduates have been selected for the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.
Two University of Hawaii at Hilo spring 2012 graduates have been selected for the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.
Ryan Rosenberg, a linguistics major with an English minor, who also completed the Teaching English as Second Language Certificate, will live in the city of Chikugo in the province of Fukuoka for at least a year to teach English to first-year students ages 14-16.
Ruby Harris, a Japanese studies major, will also teach high school students. She will live in Shizuoka prefecture in Fuji City. As an undergraduate student, Harris studied abroad at Tokyo Gakugei University.
Representatives from the Honolulu Consulate General of Japan will be on the UH-Hilo campus on Monday, Oct. 22, to promote the JET Programme from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Library Lanai. There will also be an information session from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. in the Kilohana Center (lower level of Mookini Library).
