Man allegedly robbed 2 banks
HONOLULU (AP) — The Honolulu Police Department says two banks were robbed in two days by the same man. The Aina Haina Territorial Savings Bank was robbed Monday and the Kapiolani American Savings bank was robbed Tuesday. Police say both robberies were committed by a 46-year-old man who has been apprehended.
Despite the recent spike, the number of bank robberies in the islands is down in 2012. From a high of 41 robberies in 2006, there have only been 5 so far this year. And FBI spokesman Special Agent Tom Simon says every single bank robbery in 2011 was solved by the FBI and police.
