Himeo Hayashida, 77, of Hilo died at the Hilo Medical Center on Friday, Oct. 5. Born in Mountain View, he was a retired teacher with the former Laupahoehoe High School. He was also a member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission. Private services held. No koden. Survived by wife, Jane R. Hayashida of Hilo; daughter, Kim M. (Daryl) Sakoda of Hilo; sons, Guy (Karen) Fukushima of Hilo, and Cory (Beverly) Fukushima of Kaneohe; sister, Teruko (Takeshi) Tabata of Waipahu; sister-in-law, Hideko “Deki” Hayashida of Torrance, Calif.; seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, numerous nieces & nephews. Charles “Charlie” “Kale” L. Langer, 68, of Hilo died Wednesday, Sept. 26, at his residence. Born in San Francisco, Calif., he was a retired detective for the Honolulu Police Department and a member of the Honolulu Police Department Big Island Ohana. Manecio Udasco Ruiz Pascua, 87, of Keaau died Saturday, Sept. 15, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a vegetable farmer and member of the Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
