Karyn Mary O’Brien, 55, of Mountain View died Oct. 20 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Michigan. Celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the family home in Hawaiian Acres. Richardson “Kealoha” Stephen Smith Jr., 44, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 20 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a sushi chef, former culinary chef for Restaurant Yokohama, Kuakini Cafe, Hualalai Resort and Four Seasons at Hualalai, geneaologist, member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and former paddler for Kai O Pua Canoe Club. Bernard “Sonny” Calvo is survived by, among others, daughter-in-law Chari Ann Luis-Calvo. Her name was misspelled in an obituary published Wednesday.
