The Hawaii Island Beacon Community invites the public to an open discussion with author and leadership consultant Doug Krug, who will share insights learned from designing and implementing successful health care initiatives for the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The discussion begins at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Pharmacy, in Classroom 1, at 722 South A‘ohoku St. in Hilo.
For Health and Human Services, Krug worked on the Organ Donation Initiatives and the foundation for Medicare’s current ‘Partnership for Patients’ initiative, as well as a new initiative from Medicare to transform long-term care.
“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to meet and talk story with someone as knowledgeable as Mr. Krug, especially at a time when transformational change in health care is occurring at such a rapid pace,” said Susan Hunt, project director for the Beacon group.
Krug’s primary role is helping top executive teams create and sustain the focus and alignment essential to successfully deal with today’s most pressing leadership challenges.
An international authority on organizational transformation and implementation of change, Krug was part of the John Hopkins University’s MBA program in Public Safety Leadership for 15 years.
He also served as part of executive development programs throughout the federal government including the IRS, FBI, DEA, Veterans Affairs, Center for Disease Control, Secret Service, Office of Personnel Management, NASA, Department of Interior and Department of Labor.
