Director Jack Watson announces that his cast is in rehearsal for the Waimea Community Theatre production of “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,” which will be presented Nov. 16-18 and 23-25 at the Parker School Historic Theatre in central Waimea. Show time is 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets will be available two weeks before opening night from cast and crew and at the following ticket outlets: Waimea — Waimea General Store, Without Boundaries; Kailua-Kona — Suite Possibilities; and at the box office 30 minutes before each performance begins. All seating is general admission.
“The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” is a stage play by Jay Presson Allen based on the novel by Muriel Spark, presented by special arrangement with Samuel L. French, Incorporated.
Watson is former head of the Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Oregon and a new Big Island resident. He was elected as a member of the Waimea Community Theatre and Chorus 2012-2013 Board of Directors and sings with the Waimea Community Chorus.
The cast is as follows: Jean Brodie — Anjalisa Aitken; Helena — Melora Purell; Jenny — Isabela Green; Lloyd — Todd Ednie; Lowther — Rick Turnbow; Mackay — Mari-jo Allen; Mary — Haley Hubbard; Miss Campbell — Linda Evans; Monica — Emily Dahl; Perry — John Sucke; Sandy — Madyson Harper; the young girls — Erica Yost, Isabel Richter and Sadie Ednie.
Waimea Community Theatre and Chorus, an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, has been entertaining Big Island audiences since 1964.
