Hawaii Prep’s Andrew Paisley helped Team USA salvage the last match Thursday at Waikoloa Beach Resort as Japan jumped out to a 5-3 lead at the Asia Pacific Junior Cup.

Paisley, a senior, and Hana Furuichi teamed for a 1-up victory in mixed fourball. Earlier, Waiakea senior Ciera Min, the Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion, and Tyler Munetake lost their match 1-up.

Foursomes are on tap today, with eight more points available at the Ryder Cup-style tournament for ages 13-18. Play finishes Saturday with 16 singles matches.
