The change to standard time happened at 2 a.m. today in each time zone.

Americans change their clocks twice a year, back one hour in the fall and forward one hour in the spring. Daylight-saving time resumes on March 13, 2011.

The yearly ritual, almost a century old, was made official in 1966. Hawaii and Arizona are the only two states that remain on standard time year-round.

The U.S. government has a free website — www.time.gov — showing the correct time, by zone, in all 50 states and U.S. possessions.
