Casimer “Casey” Stanley Apolinski, 90, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 4 at home. Born in Chicago, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, stock broker, and a president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may call 9 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Holualoa; funeral at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Betty Apolinski of Kailua-Kona; son, John (Linda) Apolinski; daughter, Elizabeth (Randy) Lee; sisters, Virginia Krumsee and Irene (William) Warner; brothers, Edmund (Dorothy) Apolinski, Stanley (Regina) Apolinski and Teddy Apolinski; sister, Mary Olson; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Sue Green, 96, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 6 at home. Born in Golden Pond, Ky., she was a retired registered nurse. Private services. Bryan Terutoshi Hanato, 55, Honalo, died Oct. 20 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a self-employed mechanic, an auto body and house tinter, heavy equipment operator in Las Vegas and a National Guard veteran. Private services. No koden; no flowers. Survived by parents, Teruo and Toshie Hanato of Honalo; sisters, Karen (Ralph) Okuhara and Janice (Rory) Matsumoto, all of Honolulu; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mildred “Mimi” Barbara Shawe, 79, of Waimea died Nov. 10 at home. Born Richmond, Calif., she was a retired teacher. Private memorial tree planting pending.
