Bernard “Popi” Kenji Adachi, 76, of Mountain View died Oct. 14 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Lihue, Kauai, he was a retired City and County of Honolulu firefighter and U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Celebration of life and potluck 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at Carlsmith Beach Park Pavilion in Keaukaha. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Dorothy Adachi of Mountain View; son, Arthur (Gina) Adachi of Mountain View; daughters, Alyshia (Vic) Garcia of Waianae, Oahu, and Aly Adachi of Mountain View; brother, James (Florence) Adachi of Kaneohe, Oahu; four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Peter Takeshi Oshima, 93, of Hilo died Nov. 4 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired nurseryman for Eunice Nursery and the former Flowers Inc., and member of the Church of the Holy Cross.
