An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7 shook East Hawaii Sunday afternoon.

According to the Hawaii Volcano Observatory, the temblor’s epicenter was 10 miles south of Volcano village at a depth of 5.6 miles.

It was the second earthquake strong enough to be felt in East Hawaii within a 24-hour period. A temblor at 5:59 p.m. Saturday four miles east of the Lo‘ihi seamount was originally measured at 3.9-magnitude by HVO and 4.1 by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, but was later upgraded to magnitude-4.3.

There were no reports of damage and no tsunami was generated.
