Looking for the best selection and prices of poinsettias to decorate your homes and offices for the holidays this year?
The Hawaii Island Retired Teachers Association volunteers will host their annual Hilo poinsettia sale starting Friday morning at 264 Nohea St. The benefit event is coordinated by Michie Kuwaye and her loyal crew of retired isle educators.
The poinsettia sale helps to support the teacher candidates at the University of Hawaii at Hilo School of Education.
The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until all plants are sold. In addition to the traditional red poinsettia, other varieties will be available in pink, yellow, jingle and peppermint.
The prices have remained the same at $6 for plants in the 6-inch pot, $12 for the 8-inch pot, and $22 for a 2-gallon-sized bush.
“If you want to place an order, please call Michie at 959-7069,” said association President Carol D. Brown.
