50-70 manager and coach registration

The new 50-70 Division of Little League baseball for players ages 12-13 will hold registration through Feb. 28 for players, managers and coaches. The newly sanctioned baseball division utilizing a 50-foot pitching distance and 70-foot basepaths will include a postseason tournament and World Series.

Player registration and medical forms, proofs of residency requirements, and manager or coach applications can be obtained by visiting www.hilolittleleague.com or by calling 808-987-8469.

The deadline for a manager or coach application in this division is Feb. 15. Late applicants will be placed on a wait-list.

Puu Anahulu Wahine Golf Tourney Dec. 15

Big Island Country Club will host the Puu Anahulu Wahine Golf Tournament on Dec. 15.

The event is a two-person team, modified women’s scramble using the latest November handicap. Registration is at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $100 per person and includes green fees, cart, prizes and awards luncheon at the Puu Anahulu Community Center immediately following the tournament.

Registration forms are available at the Big Island Country Club, located on State Highway 190 at the 20-mile marker or at bigislandcountryclub.com. The entry deadline is Dec. 1. Registrations received by Friday will be entered into a special prize drawing.

Softball, T-ball

sign-ups are Dec. 4

A girls softball registration and clinic will begin Dec. 4 in Kohala.

Registration, for girls ages 9 to 14, will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Dec. 4 and Dec. 6 at Kamehameha Park. Late registration will be Dec. 12. Practice begins the last week of December, and games will be played from early January to early March.

Also, there will be free registration for T-ball on the same dates at Hisaoka Gym for boys and girls ages 5 to 8.

T-ball teams will practice late December and early January and will play games from mid-January to early March.
