Douglas “Doug” Mario Alfiler, 61, of Camas and Spanaway, Wash., died Oct. 19 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, he owned Hawaiian Express in Camas, Wash, was a former employee of Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and United Airlines Flight Kitchen in Portland, Ore., and a shuttle driver for Oregon Zoo. Celebration of life 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Alfiler home in Paauilo. Scattering of ashes at a later date. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Kim (Paul) Gerlack of Camas, Wash., and Tiana (Manju) Mayachar of Vancouver, Wash.; son, Ryan Alfiler of Oahu; mother, Mary Ynigues Alfiler of Paauilo; brothers, Mariano (Joyce) Alfiler Jr. of Papaaloa and Harold (Carmen) Alfiler of Honokaa; sisters, Eleanor Gonsalves of Hilo, Vickie (Richard) Jonet of East Wenatchee, Wash., and Bessie Alfiler of Paauilo; six grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Joshua “Sonny” “Hale” James Kawelo Halemanu, 88, of Kailua-Kona died Nov 19. Born in Kaahuhu Homestead, he was a retired Honolulu fire captain, member of American Legion and a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Kalahikiola Church in Kapaau. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kawelo Halemanu Family Cemetery, 55-1113 Aina Ui Rd., Kaauhuhu Homestead. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by daughter and caregiver, Terrilynn (Gene) Teves; daughters, Maydine Halemanu and Goldie Maldonado; sons, Joshua (Karen) Halemanu, Ainsley Halemanu, Wendell Halemanu and Cornwell Halemanu; sister, Helene Duvauchelle-Halemanu of Molokai; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Kiyoshi Inada, 85, of Hilo died Nov. 22 at Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Ewa, Oahu, he was the retired owner of the former Island Supply Inc. and Island Nursery. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Lily Inada of Hilo; son, Carlton Kane Choichi Inada of Hilo. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

The Rev. Tuck Wah K. Lee, 93, of Hilo died Nov. 22 at home. Born in Olaa, he was a retired United Church of Christ minister who served parishes on Hawaii Island, Oahu, and Molokai, a missionary in Micronesia, member of the Olaa First Hawaiian Congregational Church, Keaukaha Panaewa Farmer’s Association, Haili Men’s Club and an ILWU shop steward in Hilo. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Haili Congregational Church. Memorial service at 7 p.m. Graveside committal service 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome. Survived by wife, Patricia Ann K.J.
