The newest place in Lower Puna to get out and dance, meet new people or enjoy the company of good friends, while dancing to great tunes and watching music videos, is at Boom Bash in the Hawaiian Paradise Park’s Activity Center.
DJ Uncle Mikey spins tunes you can shake, rock and roll to with all the seriousness of a brick and mortar spot. Uncle Mikey brings out the big guns: setting up a large screen TV, big bad speakers, mixing tables, and of course the much-loved twirling disco ball and lights. You can email your playlist in advance and expect to hear it sometime during the evening to: boombashhpp@gmail.com.
Boom Bash takes place every third Saturday of the month from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the HPP Activity Center at 15-1570 Maku‘u Drive, between 17th and 16th streets. The normal cover charge is $5, but this month it’s free. The next Boom Bash is Saturday, Dec. 15.
Leilani Bronson, co-creator of Boom Bash and a fellow HPP resident, describes the evening as “a fun way for folks to get out and shake it up, and not have to travel too far to get it all done.”
