The Hilo Woman’s Club is ready to rock with its “Oldies but Goodies Celebration,” at 5 p.m. today at the clubhouse at 7 Lele St. in Hilo.

Music all the way from the fabulous ’50s into the disco ’80s will be featured through the melodic tunes of Dan Nix as “Elvis” and Laurie Connable, Karen Welsh and Maryruth Eaves-Herrera as the Alphatones.

Guests will also be treated to either a steak or shrimp kabob dinner. Tickets for the event are $20. All proceeds will go toward HWC’s annual college scholarships or other community service projects. This is also a BYOB event.

In addition, the HWC will be collecting non-perishable food items at the door for the Food Basket, the Hawaii Island food bank.

“This is a high-energy evening, full of singing, dancing, fun and great food,” said HWC President Beverly Heikes. “Everyone will have such an enjoyable evening as they blast to the past. It really is a lot of fun.”
