Lorraine Begas, 88, of Kamuela died Dec. 11. Born in Ahualoa, she attended the Annunciation Church in Waimea. Memorial service 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Waimea Annunciation Church; Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by son Timothy (Maureen) Begas of Ookala; daughters, Delma (William) Case of Kamuela, Valerie Begas of Lihue, Kauai, and Tammy Begas of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; sisters Delores Amaral of California; Nancy Baptiste of Honokaa; and five grandchildren. Lowell Mason Cunningham, 65, of Ocean View died Dec. 6 at the Ka‘u Hospital. Born in Pahala, he was a brick mason, a U.S. Army veteran and a bronze star recipient. Jennifer Ululani Enos, 65, of Captain Cook died Dec. 6 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a housewife and bartendress at the former Kona Lagoon Hotel. Joseph Walsh Hanley Sr., 78, of Hilo died Dec. 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in El Paso, Texas, he was a founder and chairman emeritus of Orchid Isle Auto Center and Inter Pacific Motors, Inc., president of Big Island Car Wash, Inc.-Ziebart and Inter Pacific Advertising, and former president of Mid Pac Auto Center on the island of Kauai, benefactor of the Roman Catholic Church of the Marshall Islands and member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou, past director of the National Automobile Dealers Association, past president and director of the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association, national director emeritus of the Navy League of the United States, member of the Civilian Advisory Group United States Army, founding member and director emeritus of the Battleship Missouri Memorial, co-founder of the Sunao Wada Foundation, past president of the Rotary Club of Hilo and Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, member of Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and founder of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, Rose of Tralee Chapter.
