HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii is joining the other states in casting its votes for president and vice president.
The Electoral College convened Monday, with each state getting a number of electors equal to its congressional representation.
In Hawaii, that’s four. The presidential electors represent the political party of the candidate who won the state’s popular vote.
President Barack Obama carried Hawaii.
The state’s electors are Marie Dolores Strazar, Debbie Shimizu, Marina Schwartz and Michael Golojuch Sr.
Woman pushed from Kauai cliff
KALALAU, Kauai (AP) — Kauai police are searching for a man they suspect of throwing a Japanese visitor off a cliff.
Police say they are looking for Justin Wynn Klein, 37, whom they say is considered dangerous.
Klein is described as 6-foot-one, white, with a Mohawk haircut, possible moustache and beard and a tribal band tattoo on his left arm. Police say his last known address is in Kilauea.
A witness told police the 31-year-old victim was thrown from a cliff. Police say the victim, a woman, was airlifted Sunday afternoon near Kalalau Beach and taken to a hospital, where she is in critical condition.
Lion cubs born at Honolulu Zoo
HONOLULU (AP) — There are three new babies at the Honolulu Zoo. Lioness Moxy gave birth to three cubs on Saturday night.
The sex of the cubs is not yet known. Zoo director Manuel Mollinedo says officials do not want to get too close or place any unnecessary stress on Moxy, whose first pregnancy ended in a still-birth. He says she is being an excellent mother, cleaning them and picking them up when they start to wander off.
The mother and cubs are being kept from public view for now.

L.A.-Maui flights
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaiian Airlines plans to add two daily flights between Los Angeles and Maui to its schedule during the busy summer travel months.
The Honolulu-based airline said Monday it’s adding the flights to meet growing demand.
The flights will start in June and end in August.
The airline says passengers will be able to connect to other neighbor islands using Hawaiian’s new Maui hub.
The two daily flights will add 34,000 seats to Maui’s travel market over 10 weeks.
Hawaiian plans to use Boeing 767 airplanes seating 264 passengers on the route.
Landmark church struggles to raise repair funds
WAILUKU, Maui (AP) — A landmark church in Wailuku is struggling to raise money for extensive repairs, including termite damage and a leaning steeple.
Pastor Wayne Higa of the Ka’ahumanu Church tells The Maui News that after years of small fundraisers, the congregation of 20-30 members hasn’t raised $50,000. An estimated $850,000 is needed to refurbish the 19th Century church.
He says the church plans to seek grants from larger donors, such as corporations. He says letters to potential donors should go out early next year.
Higa is hopeful a restoration project will lead to growth in church membership.
The church was established in 1832, at the site of a Hawaiian temple and royal compound of High Chief Kahekili. The church structure was built in 1876 and named in honor of Queen Ka’ahumanu.
