Senior Jameia McDuffie scored 15 points and Kamie Imai had nine to lead the cold-shooting Lady Vuls (3-5).UHH made only 18 of 52 attempts from the field, including 4 of 12 3-pointers.

“Give Central credit, they just outplayed us tonight,” UHH coach David Kaneshiro said. “They really played well. They outhustled us and wanted it more.”

Central Washington outrebounded the Vulcans 39-26 and hit 25 of 51 field goals, including 11 of 26 treys.

“We knew coming in that they could shoot the 3, and we did a much better job defending it Monday night,” Kaneshiro said. “But tonight, Central did a much better job of getting their shots and we didn’t guard the 3-point line like we needed to do.

“Then on offense, we didn’t execute very well and except for Jameia, we shot poorly as a team.”

The Wildcats led 38-23 at the intermission.

The Vulcans (0-2 PacWest) return home and continue conference play by hosting Notre Dame de Namur at 5 p.m. Jan. 3 at the UHH Gym.^
