Richard Augustine DeSa, 71, of Pepeekeo died Nov. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honomu, he was a retired regional manager with the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), a former professional baseball player in Japan with the Daimai Orions and the Kintetsu Buffaloes, and former pitching coach for the University of Hawaii at Hilo Vulcans baseball team. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 5 p.m. Graveside urn committal service 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7 at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Kotone DeSa of Pepeekeo; sons, Richard Y. (Lisa) DeSa Jr. of Mililani, Oahu, and Dean S. (Nami) DeSa of San Jose, Calif.; daughter, Susie M.
