The North Kohala Courthouse became a step closer Tuesday to being transferred to Hawaii County.
The County Council’s Finance Committee voted in support of transferring the building to the county Parks Department for recreation and activities for the elderly.
The proposal needs to be approved by the full council.
The building, owned by the Judiciary, would be donated as-is to the county.
