Mark Raymond DeMattos, 50, of Ookala died Dec. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Maui, he was a retired Maui Community Correctional Center corrections officer. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at St. Ann’s Church in Waihee, Maui. Service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Waihee Cemetery. Born in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired tractor operator for the former Puna Sugar Co., retired papaya worker for Alii Papaya Co. and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
