Kian Kurokawa scored 13 points to lead Hilo over Keaau 45-30 in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation boys basketball game Thursday night at the Cougars Gym.
The Vikings (5-1) remained in first place in the Division I East standings, a half-game ahead of Waiakea.
Davien Adviento scored eight points to lead the Cougars (3-2), who trailed 18-11 at halftime.
In the JV game, Hilo beat Keaau 44-29 behind Grant Kunihiro’s 12 points and Dane Foster’s 10 points. Jesse Bossy scored eight points to lead the Cougars.

Waiakea 64, St. Joseph 25: Kyle Kua-Ramired scored 12 points and Owen Sandstrom 11 to lead the Warriors (4-1) at the their gym.

In the JV game, Kealakehe beat HPA 49-32 behind Blaine Broberg’s nine points. Victor Lee had 12 points and Colin Yates 10 for HPA.
