The Big Island Chapter of the Hawaii Handweavers Hui will meet from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, at North Hawaii Education and Research Center in Honokaa.

Sharon Gerrish will be guest demonstrator of the A-frame loom, a weaving method where warp and weft are a continuous strand with no loom waste.

Gerrish raises sheep at her Sunbonnet Farm at Pohakea on the Hamakua Coast. She also shears sheep, processes the wool, spins, hooks rugs, crochets and weaves.

Monday Weavers, an informal weaving discussion group, will meet from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at Island Yarns and Art Supplies, 73-5568 Olowalu St. in the Kaloko Industrial area. Weavers share and discuss weaving projects and exchange tips and ideas each month.

Both events are open to the public at no charge.
