Betty Shizue Abe, 75, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 14 at her residence. Born in Paauhau, Honokaa, she was a sales clerk at the former Liberty House and Macy’s stores. She was known for her beautiful orchids that she raised and sold at the KTA Keauhou Store. She was a member of Kailua-Shita Kumiai and Daifukuji Soto Mission. Private services held. Survived by sons, Nathan (Michele) Abe of Kailua-Kona, Michael (Kathleen) Abe of Kailua-Kona, David (Tomomi) Abe of Nagoya, Japan; companion, Clifford Tanoue of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Herbert Hirayama of Honokaa, Clayton (Sherilyn) Hirayama of California; sisters, Kay Nishimura of California, Alma (Daniel) Fujikawa of Pearl City, Oahu, Sharon (Robert) Costa of Honolulu; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Nancy Barawis David, 76, of Hookena died Feb. 4 at her daughter’s residence in Waimanalo. Born in South Kona, she was a baker for ABC Bakery in Waipahu and a retired custodian at Waipahu High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Keei Ward. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Keei Ward in Honaunau. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Feb. 16 at the church for a 10 a.m. funeral service with burial to follow at the Saints Family Cemetery in Keei.Casual attire, flowers welcome. Haroldine “Haro” Leona Kaheiki Ventura, 59, of Hilo died Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and a member of the Soka Gakkai International-USA-Hilo. Pot luck and celebration of life to be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, at Four Miles Beach Park in Hilo at noon. Casual attire. Jeffery “Oly…eee” Alan Weber, 59, of Ookala died at the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu on Sunday, Jan. 27. Born in Hilo, he was a retired landscaper and a former commercial fisherman. He was also a member of the Church of the Holy Apostles in Hilo and represented BASIC IMAGE PAKALOVE. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 9-11 a.m., where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Casual attire.
