New Hope Waimea will host a free movie night featuring the animated movie “Up” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22.

Kids, young and old alike will raise their hands and cheer for 78-year old Carl (voiced by Ed Asner) as he fulfills his life-long dream of traveling to Paradise Falls, South America.

Winner of 10 awards between 2009 and 2010, and nominated for five 2010 Oscars, this animated award-winning movie will take the audience up, up and away as Carl saves his home from construction distruction by attaching thousands of balloons to the roof, only to discover a stowaway in mid-flight. The plot thickens as Carl and his stowaway reach Paradise Falls and then meet up with shady Charles Muntz (voiced by Christopher Plummer) who tries to end their worldly journey and lives using specially trained dogs.

Enjoy the nostalgia of a drive-in theater by motoring the entire family to Church Row Park as New Hope Waimea Christian Fellowship. Movie, popcorn, bottled water and hot cocoa are free. Each child will receive a balloon while supply lasts.
