Kevin Tillie posted 22 kills Sunday night and No. 1 Cal Irvine outlasted Hawaii 21-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-17, 15-11 in a men’s volleyball match in Irvine, Calif.

Brook Sedore blasted 20 kills for the Warriors (5-9, 4-7 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), but after Tillie’s kill gave the Anteaters (13-3, 10-3) match point, Sedore’s attack error clinched Irvine’s ninth consecutive win.

UH tied a school record with its ninth five-set match of the season. It also went 4-5 in five-setters in 2004.

Colin Mehring compiled 13 kills with only one error for Irvine, which beat Hawaii for the sixth straight time dating back to 2011.

Sinisa Zarkovic added 15 kills and 10 digs and JP Marks tallied 13 kills and 12 digs for the Warriors, who were outhit .278-.222.

The teams meet again Tuesday.
