The Hawaii Police Department is informing motorists that islandwide DUI checkpoints will be in place this weekend for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The effort is part of a national and statewide campaign called “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

In addition, police will continue enforcement of illegal drinking in public parks during the week of spring break, March 18-24, in an effort to curb drinking and driving.
