Betty Weed Chambers, 94, of Keaau died Sunday, March 17, at home. Born in New York, she was a retired sales clerk for the Navy Exchange and a member of the Episcopal Church. Private services. Robert “Bobby” Kealamakia, 78, of Ocean View died March 15 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honaunau, he was a security guard at the Kona Village resort and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Keei and Ka‘u wards. Visitation at 8 a.m. March 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 75-230 Kalani St. in Kailua-Kona, followed by 10 a.m. funeral service; Burial to follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Survived by wife, Kahana Kealamakia of Ocean View; daughter, Kaiulani Kealamakia of Ocean View; brothers, Thomas (Daylene) Kealamakia and Dean Kealamakia, all of Utah; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. James Kenichi Takauye, 84, died Feb. 20 at Kona Community Hospital. He was a retired insurance agent, a member of the Kailua Shita Kumiai, Keopu Citizens Club, Kona Hongwanji Mission Kyodan, Kona Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Kona Lions Club and served on the Board of Governors for the Annual Hawaiian Billfish Tournament in Kailua-Kona. He also served in the U.S. Army. Friends may call at 3 p.m. March 30 at the Kona Hongwanji Mission in Kealakekua for 4 p.m. memorial service. Survived by wife, Emi Takauye; daughter, Janis Takauye of Kailua-Kona; son, Kenn (Catherine) Takauye and one grandchild of Aiea, Oahu; sisters, Florence Tsuda and Janet (Ted) Horinouchi of Honolulu; numerous nephews and nieces.
