Yoshio Hayashi, 80, of Honolulu died on March 5 in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a retired graphic designer and artist and U.S. Army veteran. Survived by spouse, Leslie Hayashi; brothers, Susumu, Kenneth, Stanley and Larry Hayashi; sisters, Sue Ellen, Kathleen, and Ruth. Celebration of Life will be held on March 30 at the Makiki Community of Christ, 1666 Mott-Smith Drive. Visitation 4 p.m.; services 5 p.m. Casual attire. James N. Kuritani, 86, of Kurtistown, died March 13 at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Keaau, he was a retired farmer and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission Kyodan, Kurtistown Jodo Mission Kyodan, and Kurtistown 11 Miles Kumiai. Private services held. No koden (monetary gifts).
