The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce will present the 10th Office Professionals’ Day Luncheon at the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Crown Room on Wednesday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to President Vaughn Cook, “this premier event sponsored by the Chamber is open to the public and we encourage bosses to treat their office professionals, now called administrative professionals. In the U.S. Administrative Professionals Day (also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day) is celebrated on the Wednesday of the last full week in April.

“This year, for your entertainment pleasure, we are proud to feature Jordan Segundo, Hawaii’s first ‘American Idol’ finalist. The committee does the planning and all the work — providing a delicious lunch buffet, prizes, surprises and fabulous entertainment — and the bosses get the credit!”

Segundo achieved national recognition as a finalist in Season 2 of American Idol and since then has been busy performing for the L.A. Lakers’ games, with Kenny Loggins at his CD release party; with The Honolulu Symphony, the Pacific Rim Jazz Festival and performed in the Lani Misalucha show in Waikiki. Besides hosting TV shows and commercials, he is the spokesperson for Adult Friends for Youth and tours with the D.A.R.E. program and continues to perform across the nation in concerts and has been featured on national and international television shows.

The emcee will be Darin Gumbs, “Gumby” the morning deejay on NATIVE FM.

Cost is $30 for HICC members and $35 for non-members. A prime rib buffet luncheon along with goodies for each office professional, lucky number prizes and surprises are all a part of this two-hour event which starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
