As of press time on Wednesday, police had not charged a 55-year-old Eden Roc man who allegedly barricaded himself in an Ahi Avenue home on Tuesday, threatened the house’s occupants with a firearm, and held off officers for almost seven hours before his surrender.

As of press time on Wednesday, police had not charged a 55-year-old Eden Roc man who allegedly barricaded himself in an Ahi Avenue home on Tuesday, threatened the house’s occupants with a firearm, and held off officers for almost seven hours before his surrender.

Police have until 5:30 p.m. today to charge Jeffrey Keith Cabanatan, or they must, by law, release him pending further investigation. He was arrested early Tuesday evening on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.

Lt. Greg Esteban said on Wednesday that officers recovered firearms from the home. Asked if they were legal, he replied: “That’s being investigated.”
