Joseph Naonea “Daling” Konanui, 75, of Hilo, formerly of Honolulu, died Thursday, March 21, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired shipyard worker for the Pearl Harbor Naval Base. Private services held. Survived by brothers, Bernard “Malu” (Doreen) Konanui of Keaau, Martin Kaolulo of Oahu and Mervin Kaolulo of Oahu; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth “E” Konanui of South Carolina and Juanita Kehukai Konanui of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Theodore “Ted” Henry Meyer, 89, of Kailua-Kona died Sunday, March 24, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home, Hilo. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., he was a retired mechanical engineer for C. Brewer & Co.; Hilo Ironworks; Theo H. Davies & Co.; and the Laupahoehoe Sugar Company. No services. No survivors. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary Inc., Hilo.

Aileen T. Ojano, 63, of Hilo died Thursday, March 28, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was an insurance agent and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Friends may call Sunday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; Visitation from 1-3 p.m.; Wake service at 3 p.m. Friends may call Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou; Visitation from 9-10 a.m.; Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire, no flowers; Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Survived by husband, Donn Ojano Sr. of Hilo; daughters, Stacy (Mary Adkins) Ojano and Natasha (Daryl Jr.) Ke of Hilo; son, Donn “DJ” (Melveen Kamau) Ojano Jr. of Hilo; father in-law, Regino Ojano Sr. of Hilo; brothers, Clyde (Jan Mahuna) Matsunaga and Melvin (Lois Nishida) Matsunaga of Hilo; sister, Elaine (Harold) Oba of Hilo; two grandsons; one uncle and one aunt; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
