Born in Hilo, he was a produce clerk with KTA Super Stores in Keauhou and member of Korner Pocket (APA) American Pool Association. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Celebration of life at noon Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Korner Pocket Bar & Grill in Kealakekua. Casual attire; no flowers. Wataru Shigehara, 93, of Hilo died March 13. Born in Onomea, he was a retired supervisor for the former Mauna Kea Sugar Co. Betty Jean Stanton, 89, of Kailua-Kona died April 1. Born in Sidney, Nebraska, she was an elementary school teacher in Van Nuys, Calif., and member of Eastern Star and American Association of University Women, and attended Church of Christ in Kealakekua. Celebration of life 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 at “Kona Isle” oceanfront. Survived by son Jim Stanton of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Nancy (Michael) Fann of Kailua-Kona; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Robert Takemi Takahashi, 87, of Hilo died March 14 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Mountain View, he was a retired engineer for Hale Koa Hotel on Oahu.
