“Jesus instructed his disciples to love God with their whole heart, soul, and mind,” said an event spokesman. “This year’s assembly has been designed to help us strengthen the person we are on the inside. As you will recall, the theme of our district convention last year was ‘Safeguard Your Heart!’ The special assembly day program, held last fall, had as its theme, ‘Safeguard Your Conscience.’”

About 1,000 persons are expected to gather for the annual two-day assembly. The sessions, featuring talks and interviews, will begin at 9:50 a.m. each day and will conclude at 3:55 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Abraham Lincoln will deliver the talk “Meditation That Safeguards the Mind” at 2:55 p.m. Saturday. Lincoln is a traveling representative for Hawaii Island and is a native of Waimea. Various speakers from Hawaii Island will present symposiums, interviews and Bible talks. One of the highlights of Saturday will be the baptism talk, “Come, Inherit The Kingdom,” at 11:25.

Sunday there will be a symposium, “Reflect The Mind Of Christ In Your Family.” This part will have sections with instruction for husbands and wives, as well as instruction for young ones.

A talk, “Keep Close in Mind Jehovah’s Day,” will begin at 1:40 p.m. Sunday. Charles Jackson, district supervisor for Hawaii, will give the presentation.

The assembly will conclude at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
