Alexander H. Hill Jr., 72, of Waimea died March 27 in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was a maintenance supervisor for Liberty House. Daniel “Danny” Kalani Kahoopii, 62, of Honokaa died March 29 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired welder for Hamakua Sugar Plantation, a former painter for White Sands Construction, member of Pueo Senior Softball Team and an Army Reserve veteran. A Celebration of Life will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 21, at Haina Ball Park in Honokaa. Service at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Royene Kahoopii of Honokaa; sons, Kyle (Sharleen) Kahoopii of Kawaihae and Chad (Branda) Kahoopii of Kihei, Maui; daughter, Danielle (Donroy) Kainoa of Waimea; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Richard William Nystrom, 77, of Kurtistown died April 6 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kearny, N.J., he was a retired U.S. Navy quartermaster chief and Vietnam War veteran. Survived by companion, Marciana Turner of Kurtistown; son, Richard (Donna) Nystrom of Glen Burnie, Md.; daughters, Cindy (Terry) Delaney of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lisa (Jim) Kingsley of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren. Rodney Ricardo Keliikanakaole Pilayo Sr., 53, died April 10 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was the owner of Rod’s Customs, a former adult corrections officer for Halawa Security, and employee at Sumida’s Auto Body in Kailua, Oahu, and was a foster parent for Catholic Charities Hawaii of Hilo. Friends may call 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friends may call again 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. George Catholic Church in Waimanalo, Oahu; Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. Anthony Silva, 84, of Kailua-Kona, died April 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Holualoa, he was a retired heavy equipment operator, fisherman and diver. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa for a 10 a.m. mass; inurnment will follow at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire. Julia Lee Soehren, 87, of Kalopa died April 8 at North Hawaii Community Hospital.
