Kaulanakealiiokekuahiwi “Kealii” Matthew Ah Sing, 42, of Kihei, Maui, died March 21 at home. Born in Hilo, he was an employee with Malafu Security, an automobile mechanic and painter, and was a member of Koa Puna Motorcycle Club and The Gym Maui in Kihei. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glad Tidings Church in Hilo; Luncheon to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by son, Kyson Ah Sing Ibanez of Maui; daughters, Daysha Ah Sing Lee and Daynette Lee, both of Hilo; sister, Serena (Jeffrey) Silva of Keaau; brothers, Merahi Martinez Matthews of Las Vegas, Nev., and Delance Ah Sing of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Alexander H. Hill Jr., 72, of Waimea died March 27 in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he was an electrical maintenance foreman for Liberty House. Masako T. Hirae, 92, of Honolulu and formerly of Pahala, died Thursday, March 21, at the Convalescent Center in Honolulu. Burial service Friday at 1 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park. Survived by daughter, Evelyn Iha of Honolulu; sons, Howard (Pauline) Hirae of Hilo, and Clement (Arlene) Hirae of Walpole, Mass.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Haruo “Harry” Iwashita, 88, of Hilo died in Hilo on Saturday, April 6. Born in Hilo, he was a retired social worker with the Hawaii State Department of Health. He was also a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Private services held. No flowers. Survived by daughter, Noreen Aki (Russell) Ogawa of Oahu; sisters, Haruko Akiyama of Keaau, and Amy (George) Kamiyama of Calif.; brothers, Henry (Anne) Iwashita of Oahu and Frank (Mitsuko) Iwashita of California; sister-in-law, Sue Iwashita of Hilo; granddaughter, Kara Lynne Ogawa; nieces and nephews. Frank Shigeru Kamimura, 83, of Hilo died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a professional chef. Private services held. Shayne Yoshi Kalani Kobayashi, 38, of Pahoa died Saturday, Jan. 19, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Violet “Waiko” Sabina Lopez, 83, of Hilo died April 8 at the Life Care Center of Hilo.
