Join Nautilus Dive Center and Kids Dive In search for underwater trashy treasure.
Coordinators are looking for divers, kayakers and debris monitors to remove debris around Moku Ola, or Coconut Island, in Hilo Bay. Meet at the parking lot of Moku Ola at 10 a.m. Sunday to form debris hunting teams for this Dive for Earth Day Ocean Cleanup in Hilo. The volunteer work day will wind up at about 2 p.m.
Scuba divers worldwide are giving the ocean a voice with Project AWARE Dive For Earth Day events around the globe this April.
“Show your appreciation for our ocean planet and help us raise awareness of the many challenges it is facing by joining in this shoreline and underwater Dive for Earth Day Cleanup,” said spokesman Carey Yost.
