The Hilo Reign’s under-19 boys team claimed the Hawaii Youth Rugby state championship in March on Oahu.

Keala Fong was named the tournament MVP. After Hilo won its first match 19-17 against Kalihi Rugby Club, Sione Holika and Noah Kalamalama each had tries and Kalamalama added a penalty kick in a 13-7 victory against Kahuku.

In the second round, Ofa Fahiua, Kaula Pilago and Fong each had tries in a 17-0 victory against Kalihi. Pilago had a try in Hilo’s final game, a 7-7 tie with Kahuku.

— The Hilo Reign’s under-19 girls team took the trophy at the Hawaii Youth Rugby state championships on Oahu.

Danielle Walko-Siua won tournament MVP honors, and Kailyn Talini led the way with two tries while Kaiulani Faanunu and Shayde Acia-John also had their tries converted in a 29-21 victory against Kalihi.

— The Hilo Reign under-10 team beat the Kona Bulls to win the rookie state title in March in Waimea.
