Lisa Lani Balai, 45, of Hilo died April 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker. Visitation 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Haili’s Tent by Panaewa Park. Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Rosalind Kamakini Chang, 91, of Volcano died April 6 at home. Born in Wainaku Kai, Hilo, she was a retired registered nurse for Castle Medical Center and member of the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Private burial at a later date. Survived by sons, Ivan L.K. (Marie) Chang of Irvine, Calif., Eric “Rick” L.K. (Beverly) Chang of Volcano and Mark K.L. Chang of Waipio, Oahu; sisters, Margaret Miranda and Eunice Matthews of San Diego, Elaine Brown, Marilyn Tau‘a of Haiku, Maui; sisters-in-law, Peggy Wippermann and Gwen Hiapo of Hilo; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Clara Maxine Dawson, 62, of Waimea died April 19. Born in San Francisco, she was a retired accountant and a Catholic. Darlene Elizabeth Lindsey, 86, of Waimea died April 17 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Whitman County, Wash., she was a property manager at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Celebration of life 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Lindsey family plot off Chesebro Lane in Waimea. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Born in Honokaa, he was a teamster for Entertainment Partners, and had worked for Omni and Rich International Airlines, Jolene’s Kau Kau Korner, Waipio Valley/Big Island Tours, and Hamakua Sugar Co. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 3at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Honokaa Chapel. Visitation again 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 4 at the chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kukuihaele County Cemetery. Casual attire.
