William “Willy” Martines, 68, of Honokaa, died April 24 at Queen’s Medical Center, Honolulu. Born in Paauilo, he was a laborer for the former Hamakua Sugar Mill Company, member of Kohala Puerto Rican Social Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Private services. Survived by son, William (Denise) Martines Jr. of Pittsburgh, Calif.; daughter, Bridgitte Potkonicky of Greenville, Pa.; brother, Jerry Martines of Honokaa; hanai sister, Darlene Martines of Kamuela; six grandchildren; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Yoshikazu Isa, 100, of Hilo died April 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the owner of the former Y. Isa Vegetable Store in Olaa, member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission, Hui Okinawa, Kawailani Ridge Kumiai and the former Big Island Bonsai Association. Christopher O’Reilly, 53, of Hilo, died May 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in New York. Private services. Pedro “Mr. Pete” Reyes, 73, of Hilo died April 18 at the Queen’s Medical Center, Oahu. Born in Kohala, he was the owner of the former Pete’s Shoe Repair, employed at the Aloha Key Shop at Sears in Hilo, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Kupuna Senior Softball League and a former member of the Crescent City Lions Club.
