The Hilo Community Chorus presents “The American Spirit” on Sunday afternoon at the Palace Theater in downtown Hilo.

The Hilo Community Chorus presents “The American Spirit” on Sunday afternoon at the Palace Theater in downtown Hilo.

The concert features Randall Thompson’s “Testament of Freedom,” Aaron Copland’s “Old American Songs,” and a selection of American spirituals.

Tom McAlexander is the conductor. The chorus will be accompanied by Walter Greenwood on piano, Cheryl Shine Hoover on flute and Herb Mahelona on cello.

The show starts at 3 p.m., and doors open at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the the Palace box office.
