Stanley “Pogot” Sadaaki Iwashita, 71, of Hilo died April 14 at his home. Born in Hilo, he was a longtime fisherman and retired carpenter foreman for Isemoto Contracting Co., had also worked for M. Sonomura Contracting Co. and Constructors Hawaii Inc. and a member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission, Big Island Karaoke Club, Hui Okinawa, The Mushroom Group, and Carpenters Union Local 745. Rose Lokelani Ho‘a Spencer, 87, of Lihue, Kauai, formerly of Laupahoehoe, died at home on March 30. Born in Keaukaha, she was co-owner of Spencer Equipment Corp., and was a dedicated homemaker.
