Life Care Center of Hilo extends a warm “mahalo” to the Ohana Lehua Bonsai Club. This group comes every year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. They take the time to bring beautiful bonsai plants and put together a huge display fit for a museum for the elders to enjoy all day in the comfort of their own home.
Every mother was treated like royalty on Mother’s Day. The ladies were honored with a lei and a special meal from the Dietary Department. The Akimseu Ohana provided beautiful musical entertainment for the elders.
And the Life Care elders thank the K-Kids at Waiakea Elementary School. This young group of leaders of the Kiwanis Club did a wonderful community project to honor our elders for Mother’s Day. The K-Kids decorated pens with bright colors and beautiful cards. The elders thoroughly enjoyed getting the hand-crafted pens and admired the children’s talent.
The thoughtful gift was just in time for writing thank-you cards. K-Kids do a wide variety of community service projects throughout the year and make a big difference in our community. Thank you for thinking of our treasured elders.
